Why this landed on your desk
FBR now wants every sales tax invoice as it is issued.
Chapter XIV of the Sales Tax Rules, added by SRO 69(I)/2025, requires integrated persons to transmit each invoice electronically and print the number FBR returns, with a QR code, on the customer's copy. An invoice that was never reported is not a valid tax invoice.
Twenty-six particulars
Rule 150R(13) fixes what every invoice must carry — buyer registration, HS code, sale type, rate, the SRO that authorises it. Miss one and FBR refuses the whole invoice.
Six years of records
Rule 150S(1) requires the invoices and their FBR responses to be kept and producible for six years. Not a spreadsheet someone overwrote.
Checked to the paisa
FBR recomputes your arithmetic and rejects a mismatch outright. Tax on the value after discount, withheld tax exactly nil or exactly equal — no rounding slack.
What you actually get
An invoice desk that knows the rules already.
You pick a buyer and a product, type a quantity, and press send. Everything FBR wants is already attached to those records — so the person raising the invoice does not need to know what an HS code is.
Rates straight from FBR
Sale types, tax rates and SRO schedules are read from FBR for your province and the date — not typed from memory. If a rate needs a schedule, the field appears.
The printed invoice, done properly
A clean A4 sales tax invoice with your masthead, the FBR number, the QR code and the total in words. Print it, or download the PDF and email it.
Month-end that reconciles
Totals for the month grouped by tax rate, so the figures you file on Annexure-C come from the same place as the invoices — plus a CSV of everything.
Refuses bad invoices first
Your invoice is checked against FBR's own error codes before it is sent, so most mistakes are caught on your screen instead of coming back as a rejection.
Works on the phone
Raise and send an invoice from a phone on site. The whole desk fits a small screen — no app to install.
A manual your staff can follow
A written handbook lives inside the system — every screen, every status, what to do when FBR refuses something. Downloadable as a PDF for the office.
The difference
Anyone can send an invoice. The value is in what happens when it doesn't arrive.
These are the cases that turn into a notice months later. Each one is handled deliberately, because each one has a deadline attached to it.
FBR never resends. So we do.
FBR user manual v1.5FBR's own documentation is explicit: the system does not retry failed uploads. If your software drops an invoice when the connection breaks, that invoice is simply never reported. Ours queues it and keeps trying — a minute, then five, then fifteen, and on — until it is accepted.
The 24-hour offline window
Rule 150XCInvoices raised during an internet or power failure must reach FBR within 24 hours. Anything still undelivered is flagged on the dashboard from 18 hours, by name and by how long it has been waiting — while there is still time to do something about it.
The 72-hour correction window
STGO 01 of 2026A genuine mistake can be cancelled or edited in FBR IRIS within 72 hours of issue; after that it takes the Commissioner's approval or a credit note. Every accepted invoice carries a live countdown, so nobody discovers the window closed after it has.
When nobody knows if it was filed
The expensive oneSometimes an invoice goes out and no reply comes back. Naive software resends it and files the same supply twice. Ours marks it unconfirmed, refuses to retry, and walks you through checking IRIS before anything else happens.
How it is delivered
Your own installation. Not a shared account.
Each business gets its own installation with its own database and its own web address. Your FBR token, your invoices and your customers are not sitting in a system shared with other companies — there is no pooled database to be mixed up in, and nobody else's staff can reach your filings.
You get the address, the sign-in, and a system already registered against your NTN. We handle the server, the certificate, the nightly backups and the updates.
Runs on your own address
invoicing.yourcompany.com.pk, or a subdomain we provide — with its own certificate.
Backed up nightly
Kept for the six years rule 150S(1) asks for, and reported on the health screen so a stopped backup is visible, not silent.
Several companies, one desk
If you file for more than one registered business, they all live in one installation and you switch between them.
Getting you live
From nothing to filing, in four steps.
FBR will not let anyone file for real until the sandbox scenarios for your business activity have all passed. We do that part with you.
-
Register in IRIS
You register for Digital Invoicing in IRIS and receive a sandbox token. We tell you exactly what to declare so the scenarios match your business.
-
We set it up
Your installation, your company details, your products and buyers loaded with the right HS codes, units and rates.
-
Pass the scenarios
Every test scenario FBR requires for your activity and sector, worked through until each one is accepted. Then FBR issues your production token.
-
Go live
One switch, with two confirmations, and your invoices become real filings. Your staff get the handbook and a walkthrough.
Questions
Straight answers.
Do we have to change how we already invoice?
You keep your own invoice numbers — type the number from your own books and it prints on the invoice. What changes is that the invoice is reported to FBR as you raise it, and the number FBR returns is printed alongside yours.
What if the internet goes down?
You carry on invoicing. Anything that could not be delivered is queued and retried automatically, and flagged well before the 24-hour deadline in rule 150XC. Nothing is quietly dropped.
We made a mistake on an invoice FBR already accepted.
Within 72 hours you can correct it directly in FBR IRIS — the system shows you exactly how long is left on that particular invoice. After that it is a credit or debit note, which the system raises against the original's FBR number.
Who can see our data?
Your installation is separate, with its own database. We hold the server access needed to run and back it up, and we do not put your invoices in a system shared with other businesses.
Can more than one person use it?
Yes — accounts are created for your staff and everyone works on the same live set of invoices. Tell us how many people need access and what they should be able to do.
What does it cost?
It depends on how many registered businesses you file for and how much setup your product and buyer data needs. Message us on WhatsApp with your business activity and sector and we will give you a straight figure.
What if we stop using it?
Your data is yours. You get the full database and a CSV of every invoice, so the six-year retention obligation stays satisfied whatever you decide.
Tell us what you sell. We'll tell you what FBR will ask for.
A short conversation is usually enough to know whether this fits your business and what it would take to get you filing.
